A subscription tracker that respects your privacy
Most subscription apps ask you to connect your bank account. MapSub doesn't. You type in what you pay for, and everything stays in your browser on this device: no account, no password, nothing stored on our servers. That makes it a good fit for anyone who wants clarity about their recurring spending without handing over financial logins.
What it shows you
- Your real monthly and yearly total, with weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly plans converted to the same basis.
- Upcoming renewals in the next 30 days, so nothing surprises you. Download them to your calendar with a reminder two days before each one.
- Spending by category, to see whether streaming, software or AI tools take the biggest share.
- Savings opportunities from clear rules: rarely used plans, cheaper yearly billing and overlapping services.
- Free trials, paused and cancelled plans, so a trial's end date shows up as a renewal and a cancelled plan's saving stays visible.
- Your currency: dollars (US, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand), pounds, euros or rupees.

Questions and answers
Is the MapSub tracker really free?
Yes. There is no account, no trial and no payment. The tracker runs entirely in your browser.
Where is my subscription data stored?
Only in your browser's local storage on this device. Nothing is sent to MapSub's servers, so we can't see it, lose it in a breach, or sell it. The flip side: clearing your browser data deletes it, so use Export backup now and then.
Can I track prices in pounds, euros or other currencies?
Yes. Pick your currency at the top of the tracker (US, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand dollars, pounds, euros or rupees) and enter prices in it. The tracker does not convert between currencies, so enter every subscription in the currency you chose.
What happens to a subscription I cancel?
Set its status to Cancelled instead of deleting it. It leaves your totals, renewals and calendar, and the tracker keeps a running figure of what your cancelled plans would have cost per year, so you can see what cancelling saved. Paused plans are left out of the totals in the same way.
How do I move my list to another device?
Click Export backup to download a small .json file, then open the tracker on the other device and choose Import backup. You can also export a CSV to open in Excel or Google Sheets.
Can I import a list from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Save your sheet as CSV and choose Import backup or CSV. The tracker needs a header row with at least Name and Price columns, and also reads Billing, Category, Status, Next renewal, Usage and Notes when present. Our free subscription tracker template already has the right columns.
Can the tracker find my subscriptions automatically?
Not yet. Automatic detection needs a connection to your bank, which brings security and privacy responsibilities we would rather not take on lightly. For now you add subscriptions yourself, which takes a minute or two for most people.
How are the savings suggestions made?
From simple, transparent rules: plans you mark as rarely used, monthly plans that have a cheaper yearly option you entered, and two or more plans in a category where people often pay twice for the same job (such as video streaming or cloud storage). Each suggestion shows the yearly saving.
