The short version

MapSub has no accounts and no sign-up. The subscription tracker saves your list only in your browser's local storage on your device, and the calculators run in your browser. We don't receive, store or sell what you enter.

Subscription tracker data

Everything you add to the tracker stays in your browser's local storage on this device, under the key mapsub:tracker:v1; the currency you pick is saved under mapsub:tracker:prefs:v1. Neither is sent to us, and we have no copy. That means:

• Your list is only on the browser and device where you entered it. Another browser, another device or a private window starts empty.
• Clearing your browser's site data or cookies for mapsub.com deletes the list permanently. We can't restore it.
• "Delete all data" in the tracker removes both keys from this browser.
• Backup (.json), CSV and calendar (.ics) files you export are created on your device. Keep them somewhere private: they contain whatever you typed in.

Calculators

Calculator inputs may be placed in the page address (the part after "?") so you can bookmark or share a result. That address is visible to anyone you share it with and stays in your browser history. Don't put personal information in calculator fields.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. This happens on every visit and is not optional, because a page can't be delivered without it.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and measure how fast pages load. A small script from static.cloudflareinsights.com reports which page was viewed, the referring page, the browser, operating system and device type, the country (derived by Cloudflare from the connection) and page-load timings. Cloudflare states that it "does not use any client-side state, such as cookies or localStorage" for these metrics and does not fingerprint visitors. We see only totals, not individual visitors.

Not using cookies doesn't mean no personal data is involved: Cloudflare still receives your IP address when your browser loads the page and the script. If you block the script (many content blockers do), the site works exactly the same.

Advertising and affiliate links

MapSub currently shows no ads and has no affiliate links. If we add either, we will update this policy before it starts, label paid links on the pages where they appear, and explain how to manage consent where the law requires it.

Children

MapSub isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect their information.
