How to keep AI subscriptions under control
- Pick one paid assistant per person. Paying for two $20 plans is $480.00 a year; most people use one far more than the other.
- Check what you already pay for. Microsoft 365 Personal, Family and Premium include Copilot, and Google AI plans include extra storage; you may be paying for an AI feature twice.
- Pay yearly only after a month of steady use. Claude Pro saves $40.00 a year on yearly billing, but only if you'd keep it all year. The monthly vs annual calculator shows the break-even month.
- For teams, count active users before renewal. Seats for people who stopped using the tool are pure waste; the unused license calculator prices it.

How much is ChatGPT Plus per year?
ChatGPT Plus is $20.00 a month, so $240.00 over a year. OpenAI's US pricing pages didn't show a discounted yearly Plus plan when we checked.
How much is Claude Pro per year?
Claude Pro is $200.00 paid up front for a year (about $17.00 a month) or $20.00 a month on monthly billing, which is $240.00 a year. Paying yearly saves $40.00.
Which AI subscription is cheapest?
Among paid plans we list, Google AI Plus at $4.99 a month and ChatGPT Go at $8.00 a month are the lowest. All five services also have a free tier. The cheapest plan is only a good deal if its usage limits fit how much you use it; vendors describe limits differently and change them often, so check the plan page.
Are the $100 and $200 plans worth it?
They raise usage limits and add features for heavy users. We can't tell you whether you'll hit the limits of a $20 plan; that depends on how you work. A practical test: use the $20 plan for a month and upgrade only if you keep hitting its limits.
Do these prices include tax?
No. They are US list prices before sales tax. Prices in the UK, Canada, Australia and other countries differ and often include VAT or GST; check the vendor page in your country.
