Disney+ price history in the US
Disney+ cost $6.99 a month in the earliest US capture we could use (Nov 28, 2019, two weeks after launch). It has raised prices 6 times since, most recently in Sep 2026: ad-free Premium is now $21.49 a month or $214.99 a year, and the plan with ads $12.49. Every figure links to an archived copy of Disney's own page, and 5 of the 6 increases carry the effective date Disney announced.
Every Disney+ price increase we found
Newest first. "Old price last seen" and "new price first seen" are the dates of the two archived captures either side of the change, so the change happened somewhere between them. Where Disney's own page announced the date in advance, we show that effective date and link the notice. Follow the links to see each capture.

What these dates mean
Most of Disney's US price rises were announced on the disneyplus.com homepage a few weeks ahead, with the date they would take effect. Where we found that notice in an archived copy of the page, the table shows it as the effective date. For the other changes, including the latest one, we found no dated notice, so we show the window between the last capture with the old price and the first with the new one.
Prices are what Disney showed a new US subscriber before tax and promotions. Bundles (with Hulu, ESPN or HBO Max) and limited-time offers are left out. In December 2022 the single ad-free plan was renamed Disney+ Premium (No Ads) when the plan with ads launched; we treat it as the same plan. The ad-supported plan has also appeared as "Disney+ Basic (With Ads)" and "Disney+ (With Ads)".
From launch until spring 2020 the archived homepage showed only the bundle price in its text, so the earliest standalone prices come from Disney's sign-up page, and the yearly plan's first date is when it first appeared in the page text, not necessarily when it began.
Paying less for Disney+
- Check whether the plan with ads is enough: it's $9.00 a month less than Premium, $108.00 a year.
- If you keep Premium all year, the yearly plan saves $42.89. The monthly vs annual calculator shows the break-even month.
- If you also pay for Hulu or HBO Max, compare the bundle on our streaming prices page, which has a lineup calculator.
- See what a price rise costs you over a year with the price increase calculator, and keep renewal dates in the free subscription tracker.
Other histories: Netflix and Spotify. Note: Disney+ standalone prices are not yet in our current price tables, because disneyplus.com shows us a non-US site when we check it live; the latest prices on this page come from Disney's US homepage as archived on Oct 1, 2026.
